OBITUARY - ELSA FORTI-BARSI

It is with much sadness I advise that my dearest friend Elsa passed away at Te Omanga Hospice, Lower Hutt NZ. on the morning of Anzac Day (25th April, 2008) after her brave battle with cancer.

Elsa's Requiem Mass was held at St. Joseph's Church Upper Hutt, on 29th April 2008.  A beautiful service, beautiful music (of course - chosen by Elsa herself), and attended by over 400 people.

People from many different areas of Elsa's life - family, friends, musicians, choir members, educators, artists - many paid tribute to a wonderful lady.

May she Rest In Peace.

Messages to Elsa's family can be sent to her daughter, Lisa Rigby.

Elsa and Gerardo

A man and his girlfriend were out to dinner one night.
The waiter tells them the night's special is chicken almondine and fresh fish.

"The chicken sounds good; I'll have that," the woman says.

The waiter nods. "And the vegetable?" he asks.

"Oh, he'll have the fish," she replies.

More at the Giggle Inn.

In early July of 2005, I received an email from a journalist for 'IL GAZZETTINO', a regional newspaper in Italy. She heard about our story and has written an article about it. It was published on the 12 July, the day Gerardo was leaving on his final trip to New Zealand, so he was able to bring the newspaper with him. The translation has taken a long time but it's finally done!
